CONTACT ME
Hi, I'm Kirsten!
For as long as I can remember, water has played a huge part in my life. Many of my earliest childhood memories involve the water. Whether it was spending my summers at the beach or by the pool, working as a lifeguard at my local YMCA, or going to water parks with friends, being around water has always brought me tremendous joy.
My love for water is equally matched by my love for teaching children. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from The University of Arizona and a Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Grand Canyon University. I spent 8 years teaching both elementary and middle school. Each summer I would work as a nanny and one summer I was nannying for a little girl who was enrolled in ISR. Each day I would drive her to swim lessons and watch with pure amazement as she learned to survive in the water. It was then that I decided that any future children I had would also complete ISR lessons.
Nearly 10 years later, I am a mother to 3 young boys, all of whom have completed many seasons of ISR, including Refresher and Maintenance lessons. Learning survival swimming skills have made my sons aquatic problem solvers, giving them the confidence and knowledge they need to survive during a water emergency. The peace of mind ISR has given my family is truly invaluable.
I became an ISR instructor because I believe in the program whole heartedly and I am committed to ISR’s mission to ensure Not One More Child Drowns. ISR perfectly embodies my passions – teaching, children, and water. I hope I can put my passions to work to make a difference in your child’s life.
